Not very well-put, It was hard to put into words. But it is in honor my beautiful friend, who has been shut down by nearly every friend and faculty member she has tried to talk to about her sexual assault, because they “can’t prosecute men for being jerks.” To my strong-willed friend who still suffers from PTSD and overwhelming guilt accompanied by depression and anxiety attacks because it happened not once but twice. For my friend who tried to confront him and he told her she “wanted it” by not telling him to stop during the act.

Silence is not consent, and “no” does not mean try harder.

Both things have been said many a time before, but they are still relevant and need to be said time and time again until people can understand that rape culture is very real, and that the only consent is “yes.”

If you coerce someone it doesn’t make you ANY LESS OF A RAPIST, it just makes you harder to prosecute.
